The safari
A short safari that does not feel rushed, because it leaves out the long drive to the Serengeti rather than cramming it in.
Three parks within a few hours of Arusha, finishing on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. This is the right trip if you have a few days either side of a conference, if you are extending a Kilimanjaro climb, or if you live in the region and want a proper safari over a long weekend.
Priced per person on enquiry, based on your dates, group size and choice of accommodation.
Day by day
Collected from Arusha after breakfast and driven to Tarangire National Park, roughly two hours. A full afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River, through baobab woodland and open grass. Transfer to your camp or lodge in the late afternoon.
Morning game drive in Tarangire, then transfer to Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon drive through the groundwater forest, the acacia woodland and down to the lake shore. Continue to Karatu in the evening, on the edge of the Ngorongoro highlands. An optional visit to a Maasai or Iraqw community can be arranged here.
Early breakfast and a short drive to the Lodoare Gate, then up to the rim and down into the Ngorongoro Crater. A full morning on the crater floor, with a picnic lunch beside the hippo pool. Ascent in the early afternoon and return to Arusha, arriving late afternoon.
Meal key: B breakfast, L lunch, D dinner.
